デジイチを購入して、また東京に住むようになって以来、JR浜松町駅の小便小僧像は毎月の定点観測スポットになっています。
毎月２６日には、その季節に合った衣装がボランティアスタッフによって着せられ、楽しませてくれます。たまには素っ裸の小便小僧像も見たいとも思いますがね。さて本家、ベルギーの小便小僧は世界三大ガッカリにも称されるくらい、確かに拍子抜けでした。

センチュリー・プラント（Century plant）という英語名を持つ、この龍舌蘭（リュウゼツラン）。
１００年に一度しか咲かないがためにこの名前になったそうな。実際のところは数十年に一度咲くそうで、いやしかしそれでも滅多に花にお目に掛かれない植物だ。
さてこの龍舌蘭、浜離宮恩賜庭園ではなんと今年にどうやら咲くらしい思わせ振りな気配。グングンと花茎が伸びて、今はもう３メートル近くあろうか。あいにく今日はまだで、７月下旬だかに咲く（？）らしい。予定は未定、でも別にいいさ。このために（でもないけれど）、年間パスを買ったんだし。

武田信玄と上杉謙信がかつて戦いを繰り広げた場所、川中島。
梅雨の晴れ間を利用して、そそくさと足を運んできました。ここ八幡社は１５６１年の第四次川中島の合戦で、武田信玄が本陣を敷いた場所とされています。この像は二人の戦いの一場面として、実に多くの方に知られている瞬間を見せてくれます。

２００５年７月３日、夜１１時３０分。
ロンドンはヴィクトリアコーチ駅を発ったコーチ（長距離バス）は一路、西へ。片道９時間掛けて向かうのは、英国本土（ブリテン島）の最西端ランズエンド。コーチの終点ペンザンスの街から、さらにローカルバスに１時間ほど揺られる。牧草地や田畑の中の細い道を、壊れそうなくらいのエンジン音を噛まし、車体を大きく揺らしながら旧式のバスは行く。ただひたすら地平線に向かって進んでいく。周囲には牛がのんびりと草を食むのどかな風景が広がっていて、地面に出来ているトラクターの轍が田舎を描いている。心なしそのテの臭いも窓から漂ってくる。
”Welcome To Land’s End”の看板が立っている。そのものズバリ、”地の果て”、そんな形容が似合う荒涼とした場所を思い描いていたのだが、ギフトショップありファーストフード屋ありヘンなアトラクションあり宿泊施設あり・・・普通に観光地化されている。英国本土は周知の通り島国。そしてここはその最西端の岬。絶景！眼の前の断崖絶壁のその先には一面大海原が広がっている。まさにそういう意味では地の果てと言えるのかもしれない。
こういう場所には半ばお約束とも言える、”ここから〜まで●マイル”の標識が立つ。ちなみにここから大阪までは8494マイル、東京までは8226マイルだ。地球の直径（赤道上）がおよそ8000マイルなので、日本のほぼ裏側に立っているってことになるだろうか。

This ７ hundred thousand square-metre forest is visited by many people both as a spiritual area of the people and as a recreation and relaxation area centre of Tokyo.
Three million people come in the first three days of a new year.
Needless to say, it's the middle of the downtown area here.
However, I can't think so at all.
It is the green numerousness to grow thick thickly of trees surrounding a rotation, and the smell that I'm conscious of through the sight of the prop of the main hall of this shrine tinged with black taste to bring on an atmosphere doing the heart of the person calmly does the heart of the person calmly and solemnly naturally.
They seemed to take the role that formed this place as a sanctuary separated from from the city.

黄土色の大地、黒く煤けた丘かあるいは山か、兎にも角にも未開の地というのが第一印象。それに比べ、首都レイキャヴィークの家々のカラフルさは凄まじいギャップを受けるに充分だった。大西洋に面した街、しかも高層建築が皆無なので、海からの風がもろに来る。寒い、否、痛い。
街なかに建つ教会。やれゴシック様式だ、やれロマネスク様式だといった外観の宗教建築は多く見てきたけれども、これは何様式になるんだろうか？アイスランドの自然も素晴らしいが、こういった一見すると何だかよく解らない建物もまた楽しかった。そして、夕食に鯨のステーキを食べ、太陽の沈まない白夜を経験し、強烈な硫黄臭を放つシャワーで体を洗い、アイスランドでの一日が終わる。

”スコットランド”をひとつの国家として見るならば、エジンバラはその首都に当たる。「え？首都はグラスゴーじゃ？」とはよく訊く台詞だが、知人のスコットランド人によると旧きを残したエジンバラこそが変わらず首都なのだそうだ。確かにエジンバラ城、そしてカールトンの丘から望んだその街並みの、建物からにじみ出るような、落ち着いた感じの赤茶色やら煤けた黒褐色やらが非常に美しい。
しかし・・・この天候でなければもっと楽しめたのに。
そう、単に雪って言うのじゃなかった。吹雪だった。ただでさえ冷たい風に乗って横殴りの雪が顔を叩くのに、時折覗く晴れ間はすぐに厚い雲に遮られ、また灰汁桶を返した様に雨雪交じりの時間が訪れる。”イギリスの天気は変わり易い”、それをここでもまた実感したのだった。

TOKUTOMI Roka is the author of ”HOTOTOGISU（ means a little cuckoo）”, it's the best seller of the Meiji literature.
He decided that I sent agriculture life in response to a suggestion of Russian great writer Tolstoy and was able to mind a residence here that was a farm village once.
The way of then living was written in the essay called ”MIMIZU NO TAHAGOTO（ means babble of an earthworm）” in detail.
A clump of bamboo and a garden among the grove of miscellaneous trees, he called himself ”an aesthetic farmer” and plow the field on the day when it was fine, and reading on a rainy day.
From the figure, his person image is remembered.

It's ４３ centimetres high and slightly smaller than home Brussels in Belgium.
This statue memorialized the ８０th anniversary railroad opening to traffic on October １４, １９５２, and it was donated.
Now the clothes are exchanged on ２６th monthly.
It is said whether for these past ２-３０ years that he is dressed up.
As for the beginning is the handicraft capped a girl on a cold day in a certain winter. Thereafter, it's said that it was firmly established in the volunteer that somebody helps put on clothes every month.
And look at the following pics, it is a kimono figure for the New Year ２００８. So, I intend to take a photograph every month.

The AWA-odori（odori means "dance"） is a traditional arts event that was originated in Tokushima, and it continues for more than ４００ years.
The AWA-odori meets that named each place's name is born, and it's held nation-wide now in each place. Here Koenji is one of the places, too.
It grew up in East Japan that represented summer of Tokyo's greatest AWA-odori event.
Now the AWA-odori progressed in social culture from a mere traditional arts event.

It's really only here now that sea water goes in and out.
The contrast that I did backed by advancing skyscrapers of the development is so beautiful, I strongly feel it.
